Frequently Asked Questions

Do you see people face-to-face?

At present I only offer online or telephone sessions. Clients have enjoyed the flexibility of working online which means no travel time, and allows us to screen share to look at ideas and materials together. Some people have preferred to keep their camera off which is absolutely fine.

How many sessions will I need?

I understand that psychology sessions can be expensive. Therefore we discuss the number of sessions that you can afford following the assessment, and look to help you reach your goals as quickly as possible. This then allows us to focus on what matters to you, and we review progress and sessions numbers frequently.

Will you see me?

I offer Psychological Assessment and Therapy sessions to anyone aged 16 or over. I have the most expertise working with different types of anxiety disorders, but I have also worked with people going through all kinds of difficult circumstances and major life transitions to help them process and come to terms with things. I would never work outside my areas of knowledge and offer appropriate signposting to people who I do not think I could personally support following the assessment.

Will my sessions be confidential?

I am bound by a duty of confidentiality to the people I work with and would only discuss any information with my clinical supervisor. If I was worried someone may be a risk to themselves or someone else, I may have to extend this confidentiality to ensure that person got the correct support to keep them safe. This would all be discussed in a safety plan as part of the initial assessment. Any clinical notes or personal information would be kept securely and anonymised to protect confidentiality.
