Person-centred therapy
I am a warm and approachable Clinical Psychologist and I place great importance in building up a therapeutic relationship with my clients. I understand how difficult it can be to start therapy and therefore I carry out an in-depth assessment to find out about your strengths and background. This allows us form a joint understanding of what you are seeking support with that is contextualised by the your prior experiences. We are then able to decide whether we are well matched to work together. I seek regular feedback from my clients to make sure you feel heard and understood, whilst also ensuring that we are focusing on meaningful change.

My primary approach is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and I am an accredited CBT Therapist with the BABCP. I find this especially useful when working with clients to understand how their thoughts, feelings and behaviours can keep them trapped in a vicious cycle.
My clinical training has also given me knowledge and experience of working with a number of other approaches that I draw on when appropriate. This includes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Systemic Therapy. The latter helps to externalise our difficulties and looks at how they are influenced by the wider family systems or culture within which we live.
